The success of tattoo removal is dependent upon several variables all of which are beyond the control of the technician. Professional tattoos are laid deeper into the dermal layer of the skin and contain more layers and density in ink. Amateur tattoos are more superficial in the skin and typically not as shaded in the skin or defined in density. Amateur tattoos will usually respond more quickly to treatment.
Certain inks respond faster and break apart with more ease. Tattoos that have been covered by another tattoo are denser and the ink is more densely layered in the skin.
Because there is more lymph activity in the trunk of the body these tattoos usually respond quicker than those on extremities.
