Botox blocks neuromuscular transmission by binding to acceptor sites on motor nerve terminals, entering the nerve terminals, and inhibiting the release of acetylcholine.
Side Affects
- Paralysis of a nearby muscle that could interfere with opening of the eyes

- Headache, nausea, flu-like symptoms
- Swallowing, speech, or respiratory disorders
- Swelling, bruising, or redness in the injection site
- Disorientation and double vision
- Temporary asymmetrical appearance
- Abnormal or lack of facial expression

Post Care
- Do not massage or apply pressure to the treated area for 6-8 hours after treatment
- Do not lie down 6 hours after treatment
- Avoid hot yoga, strenuous activities, facials, sauna treatment, extreme heat or sun exposure, alcoholic beverages for 24 hours after treatment
- Avoid Vitamin E, Advil, Ginger, Ginkgo Bilboa, Ginseng, and Garlic for 2 weaks after treatment since this may increase the risk for bruising
